IPL Facial Rejuvenation

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a powerful light source that has the ability to penetrate the skin while causing minimal skin damage. Equipped with a broad-spectrum wavelength ranging from 600nm-1300nm, IPL facial rejuvenation, also called photorejuvenation, is effective in treating various skin conditions, including:

  • sun damage (freckles and sun spots)
  • uneven skin tone and skin discoloration
  • skin flushing or redness (rosacea)
  • skin laxity
  • vascular lesions (telangiectasia)

A good candidate for IPL facial rejuvenation is a person with blotchy, sun-damaged or discoloured skin.

IPL facial rejuvenation is a day procedure that can be done on the day of the consultation. The patient prepares for the treatment by thoroughly cleansing the face to be free from any makeup.

A topical anesthesia is applied on the treated area to minimize any discomfort during the procedure. Special goggles should also be worn to protect the eyes from sudden bursts of bright light.

Mild redness on the treated skin is normal after the treatment. Compared with other procedures, IPL facial rejuvenation has very little downtime, with patients able to return to work immediately on the same day of their appointment.
